Adventure Basic

  • Non-technical walking on tracks and paths including coastal paths at altitudes below 1000m

Adventure Plus

  • Abseiling
  • Bouldering
  • Hill walking in summer conditions (e.g. Tour de Mont Blanc, Hut to Hut tours)
  • Orienteering
  • Scrambling
  • Single pitch and/or bolted sport climbing (inc. permanently bolted multi pitches)
  • Sport climbing (involving permanent fixed anchors)
  • Via ferrata

Max Adventure

  • Big wall climbing (multi pitch/multi day ascents)
  • Glacial crossing/trekking
  • Hill walking or snow shoeing in winter conditions (e.g. in snow or ice where crampons and ropes might be used)
  • Multi pitch rock climbing (where leader placed protection is involved)
  • Trad climbing (Traditional multi pitch climbing involving leader placed protection)
  • Trekking below 4000m in the greater ranges
  • Trekking below 6000m in the greater ranges excluding Nepal (eg, Inca Trail, Kilimanjaro)

Extreme Adventure

  • Alpine mountaineering upto 5000 meters (Europe only)
  • Deep water soloing (on previously climbed areas designated as suitable for deep water solo climbing)
  • Ice climbing
  • Trekking in Nepal (any trekking peaks below 7000m including Everest Base Camp)

Pro Adventure

  • Mountaineering upto 7000m (worldwide destinations, professional guided trips only, please submit itinerary prior to departure for agreement)
  • Mountaineering - any first ascents - refer for agreement before policy purchase
